Shell and Jewel - 1901
Shell and Jewel - 1901
Shell and Jewel was produced by many glass companies. Beatty - Brady was one of them. In 1899 National Glass purchased the Beatty - Brady Company and continued to produce the Shell and Jewel pattern. The above enlargement is from a 1901 Falk Stern and Company Catalog. Indiana Glass was operating as National Glass, Factory #1 in 1901 when the above patterns were produced. Indiana Glass began operating as the Indiana Glass Company in 1904 when a group of investors, lead by Frank Merry, leased Factory #1 from National Glass. Shell and Jewel was produced throughout this time period.
The Indiana Shell and Jewel pattern was made in crystal, no other colors.
