Sandwich Pattern in Ruby - 1970 Tiara Catalog
Indiana Glass Pattern number 170, known as the Sandwich or Early American Pattern. Indiana Glass introduced their verision of the Sandwich pattern in 1925.
The Sandwich pattern was reissued by Indiana Glass and sold through Tiara. The first reissues were made in Ruby as shown in the above 1970 Tiara catalog scan. The Sandwich Pattern was sold through Tiara from 1970 to 1998. The dinnerware colors sold were:
Please NOTE - Only the 1970 Ruby Sandwich items were handmade. The other Tiara Sandwich colors were machine made.
There were many specialty and promotional items made in the Sandwich pattern. These special items were made in a variety of different colors. You can find a Tiara Sandwich glass item in just about every color Tiara offered. The Sandwich pattern was the MAIN Tiara pattern. Tiara was pretty much built around the Sandwich pattern. The above color list represents complete dinnerware lines.
